As most know, we tried this last year and it fell threw. So, I'm trying to do this again this year. I have been looking at hotels in Ocean City, MD. I have a few questions for those interested. First, which weekend would you prefer?
July, 22-24 or July, 29-31 or August, 5-7 or August, 19-21 or August, 26-28
Second, Would you prefer to be on the Boardwalk or will any hotel do? I would love to have a balcony overlooking the Boardwalk myself.
So far, I have looked into Tidelands Caribbean at 5th & Boardwalk. They have two room efficiencies for $285/nite for 4 people. Rooms can sleep 6 people. Additional people are $10/nite. Total would be $610/wkend for 6 people. That's $101.67/person.
I also looked into ParkPlace Boardwalk Hotel. Their rates for July, 22-August, 20 are $259/nite for 4 people and for August, 21-28 are $219/nite plus $10 extra per person/nite. Total for July, 22-August, 20 would be $558 or $93/person and for August, 21-28 would be $478 or $79.67/ person.
Let me know what you think about everything concerning these issues.

No, none of these weekends are on a holiday. I was shooting for the Fourth Of July weekend, but everything is booked. I just sent some forms to some hotels for group discounts. I'll try to see what I can pull.

I found this. Econo Lodge on 145th St. & Coastal Hwy. 2 person accomadations. $12 for each additional person per nite.
June 17-August 13 $195/nite (4ppl)$109.50 (6ppl)$81.00
August 14-August 20 $175/nite (4ppl)$99.50 (6ppl)$74.34
August 21 Sept. 4 $110/nite (4ppl)$67.00 (6ppl)$52.67
Prices are for each persons share for the weekend. I would like to act on this fast enough to be able to reserve rooms (not just this hotel, but what ever we decide on). I will be posting more prices as I search.

I would love to get in on this. There is a car festival in the late summer and early fall where everybody and anybody brings their hot rod, street rod, etc. and has a blast all weekend. The cops are a little lax on burnouts and stuff but of course DO NOT put up with street racing. Anyway, I have heard it's a blast. It would be great to meet each other and look at other cars too. Just an idea. The only drawback is room availability and of course price. Again just an idea to try and coordinate. If you don't like it, so be it.
All of the dates sound cool to me, you can count me in.

Sorry I had to find the event info.
The OC car shows are on the two following weekends.
The info can be found here... http://www.specialeventpro.com/
The first one is May 19th -22nd, and the other is Oct. 6th -9th
Neither of those are probably very good.
Also, please don't count me in on a Hotel room count. I only live 2-3 hours away and will not be staying in OC.
Thanks for starting this!

I'll try to get as much information as I can. Yes, I'm definately not bailing out of this this year. I only live about three and a half hours away. I was thinking of doing this at Myrtle Beach, but thought Ocean City is in the middle and it would be easier for those in the northeast and southeast to travel.

Yeah, I loved Myrtle way better than Ocean City. Don't get me wrong, I love Ocean City, too. I just want the schedule to be more flexible for everyone.
