New Seats

i was wondering if anyone knew of seats that will actually fit in our cars? i was thinking about going with the corbeau forzas' but not sure. what do you guys think?

You should be able to get just about any seat to fit with a universal mount and some welding skills. Corbeau is probably one of the best seats you can go with.

and one of the most expensive. Do you really want to spend that kind of money on seats....woouldn't you rather go with something else first? Just a thought.

They may be expensive, but you won't have to deal with the problems you might encounter with cheap seats. Like fading, wearing, and hard foam.

I just installed some buckets from http://www.jegs.com part#555-70240 $199 each, used the original brackets, which made the install very easy. It's not difficult to remove the brackets from the original seats. On my 2001, there is only 2 Torx bolts holding the seats down (to the chassis) in the rear, once removed pull up & then with the seat back in recline position just force it to the back towards the rear seat, that will release the hooks up front. There are 4 bolts holding the original seat to the brackets (13mm). Lift the seat material up to access the top of the bolts, I used a deep 13mm socket to remove all 4. To install, the rear holes on the bracket and the replacement seats lined right up. You have to drill 2 holes on the original bracket to line up with the front holes of the replacement seats. The only things you'll need to buy is 4 new bolts with nuts & washers for the front of the seats to bolt on to the bracket. Once you have the seat bolted to the bracket, the bracket will just slide right in (at the front position on the car floor) & replace the rear torx bolts and you're done. No drilling on the body, since it has no holes in the front for bolts, only 2 slits on each side for the bracket to slide into. :thumbsup:

just a question but when was the last time you'll priced seats? the seats i want from corbeau are only 220 a seat. that's expensive? the ones i wanted from sparco were 499 per seat. that's expensive!! i wasnt talking about the mounting i was mainly talking about the dimensions. i got the specs from corbeaus site and their seats are bigger and wider than ours but i think i can make it work

I saw some really nice Sparco seats: http://www.racing-seats-usa.com/942.html but @900.00 each & $1,300 for leather, a little above my price range.

There is no racing seats that fit our cars. To have them installed your looking at well over 500.00, prob around 1200.00. Just had mine done a few days ago. Took the guy 8 hours just to get one seat in.

yea i agree, and reformat it into steps so its a little easier to understand, would be a great addition to the how to.......
