Sr Rotors From Ebay

I just bought a set of these. Does anyone else have them? Are they any good (as in don't warp as fast)?

I've decided to try and fix my brake problem myself. I'm changing all 4 rotors, pads, and lubing the caliper pistons.

Any suggestions on the pads? I was just going to get them at AutoZone.

Any other suggestions on my brake system overhaul? I only have 35k on the car, and this will be the second time everything is replaced.

My goals are to stop the suddering when applying the brakes with new rotors and possibly reduce the amount of brake slip in the rain with the aftermarket rotors & pads. Getting rid of the "shh, shh" sound when turning at slow speeds would be a plus, however, that may not be related to the brake system. Bad hub perhaps...

Anyways, if these things aren't fixed I'm trading this sucker in - I hate losing a car that is paid off and that looks this good but I'll have no other choice.

Glad to hear it. How long have you had them? Which pads are you using? Those are stock calipers, correct?

stock painted calipers, VGX carbon metallic pads, but i would suggest ceramic pads, thats what i'm getting next.

I saw some BOSCHE front pads on EBay for ~$55. Do you know of any places to get cheaper ceramic pads?

As far as reducing the brake fade in the rain. Good luck. I have RSM rotors and Performance Friction brake pads. When my rotors and pads are wet, I have to brake really early. It's worse now than it was when my stockers were on. However, once they get hot, they are awesome.

I have literally had NO problems wet or dry, stopping power is awesome cold, hot, wet or dry!

they look dam near the same as what i have now.

would i have to go with ceramic pads? and what would be the reason for needing new pads, would the rotors just tear up semi-metalic pads?

It looks like a GREAT deal, however, check out their feedbacks! They are horrible sellers. A lot of people never received their rotors. That is why I paid a little extra and went with the SR rotors. The SR's also come painted so they won't rust for a while.

It took me a few days to talk myself out of that deal though. $100 for rotors AND pads is an AMAZING deal - but when you run the risk of them never shipping your product, then it really isn't such a good deal. On top of that, the people who did get them had to wait a few months. I need new brakes now. I'm going to end up paying twice as much, but in the end, you get what you pay for. :thumbsup:

The pads that Just Brakes put on are total crap ... my wheels are all black and caked with brake dust. These should fix that.

Im not finding any good deals on ebay for front and rear rotors that are just drilled, most are drilled and slotted, so im wondering, is it true that slotted rotors will tear up your brake pads faster than just drilled rotors??? What're the positives and negatives. Any information is helpful.

The only disadvantage that I know of is that they cost more and some shops won't turn them because of the slots. I never heard of them tearing up pads.

I would just wait until another auction pops up for the ones you want and save yourself a few bucks. Better yet, if you like the ones I just bought, email the seller and I'm sure that shop will sell you a pair for the same price I bought them for. And possibly cheaper since they don't have to pay EBay commissions. Find out, and let us know what you do.

the sr rotors ive had no experience with but that second link i have those rotors.....the pads they come with are loud......so i bought some performance friction ones and it got rid of the noise........but when i brake semi decent at exactly between 38-42 mph i can feel something through the brake pedal, very minor........and only between those speeds......ive got a click that i hear when i get slowed down all the way but thats cause im an idiot and forgot to lube the piston.....

Well, I installed everything over the weekend. Hard work, but well worth it! My Alero no longer squeals and stops smoothly again. The shuttering is GONE! The rotors and pads also look great. I put an extra coat of paint on the rotors before I installed them because the corners wore off during shipping. I'd recommend both the rotors and pads. The prices were great and I received them within a week of ordering. The pads come with a lifetime warranty. (However, I'm responsible for shipping so it doesn't mean much).
