I am currently in the process of re-assembeling my motor (3400) from replacing the LIMG (well I was till this happened.) and I went to torque the first rocker and it broke before the wrench "clicked". The Litterature I have says it should be torqued to 89ft/lbs and the wrench was set to about 85. Now my question is is that the right amount of torque or too much or was my wrench just having a brain fart?

thats way too much... you must be mistaken.

rocker arm bolts are 116 in lbs(somewhere around there can't remember off the top of my head) with an addition 30 degree turn. .. Inch pounds. Then the valve covers are 89 in lbs. Not foot pounds.
