Do any of those OEM pac thingys work on our cars? My radio does not have RDS, I t hink that is a US thing and I cannot seem to find one that will work with it. All that I want to do i shave an AUX input for an mp3 player.

2003-2004 Oldsmobile Alero: Harness C, Note: Connect to radio. If radio has CD/Aux button set dip switches to GM XM mode, else set switches to GM Class 2

You don't have to have a external cd changer. You have to have cd changer controls on the OEM HU. Any time you see a radio with any controls other than fm or internal cd, they use a aux port. The key to using a aux port is knowing what language the head unit uses to communicate with. Otherwise known as a bus transmission. Example: a kenwood HU won't be able to communicate with a alpine. The Pac is a box used to translate between the ipod or other device. If the HU doesn't have cd changer controls or xm radio it won't have a aux port to use.
