So I see a 2 door black Ho this weekend with rims(#1 i was pissed cuz someone got rims on their ho before me and #2 it looked like turd cuz it wasnt lowered and just looked like crap) now the rims had 5 spokes and they were somewhat thick. ive been shopping for somewhat think spokes this whole time, and after seeing that car it turned me off. maybe it was just the rims but it looked like sh*t. so now im on the fence about getting my original thought of 5 spoked semi thick ones or now think spokes....the humanity!!!!

Mine are medium size I guess. I like lots of spokes (well, not like 80 or anything :P )... as you can see

IMO: it's about the size of the gap in between the spokes. If you have nice brakes to show off, bigger gaps are cool. If you have stock brakes (or something that's not that special) smaller gaps are the way to go.

So if you have nice brakes (or plan on getting some in the near future) go for the thinner spokes, because they generally make a bigger gap.

The problem you sometimes run into is structure integrity of the rims when you go to bigger sizes. I love the rims I have now and I wish they came in 18's but they don't because of the build of them. Obviously with the bigger wheel, you're going to go with a smaller series tire so the rim has to be structurally capable of handling potholes without bending to easily.

well im getting chrome no matter what...just really disappointed how that ho looked with wide spokes. but like i said, maybe it was just the rims they had on it.
and i plan on getting nice brakes next spring, so really i can get anything. i just dont want the ricer look...and im afraid of getting that if i go with thinner spokes! EEEE

It also depends on the shape of the spokes, they design of the wheel. you can get thin spokes that are not ricey at all, but are elegant, if that makes sense.

wheels with dish are hot... like these. That way you don't make them squares going over pot holes and such. I guess dish wheels are the hotness right now

Also you can go to discounttire.com and there is a link on the lower right hand side where you can look at your car with different kinds of wheels on it. I'll give you an idea on how they will look.

Get some wide open thin spoked wheels. Then paint your calipers and rotors. Even the stock brakes look good when painted.

Just keep looking... there's LOTS of rims that do look or would look good on an Alero. Also, are you going for a sporty look or a classy look? Big difference in which kind of rims you should look at for different looks you're going for.

well...i like the rims that alero440 posted but they're not for me. not my taste. i like chrome and something that basically makes ppl heads turn. i want ppl to say 'sh*it they're sweet rims'...i like clean lines and im not one to go over the top. but i want my rims to stand out and be hott!! so i guess u could say classy if anything
