Sup..I just bought an '02 Alero (4 door 2.2 auto GLS). I was driving my dad's Saturn for a while but an emergency came up and I had to buy a car for myself QUICK...this Alero was the best car I could find in the amount of time I had.
I Just came back from being stationed in Japan and had a GTO twin Turbo (3000GT VR4). Before that, I had a Honda Prelude, Subaru wagon (sweet car) and a Suzuki Side kick. So this is the first U.S. car that I've owned. I think I made a good choice. Not my "kind of car", but it is nice!!!!!!! for what it is.
The more I familarize myself with it, the more cool things I find that I like. I don't want to dump a lot of money into it but I would like a put an intake and maybe a TB and/or high flow cat. Seems VERY restircted stock and gas mileage is horrible for a 4 banger. I'm sure a few mods will make her happier?
I'm used to turbo imports , as I spent 2 years modding my VR4 and helping mod my friends' Skylines, RX7's, 180's, ect. But I am somewhat knowledgeable about basic bolt-ons for N/A cars..(my Prelude was slightly modded). Hope to learn a lot here..I'm sure I'll need the help. Peace!

Welcome. You will find some good info here.
I did not know they made a 4cyl GLS Alero..? Anyway, I get about 30-32 mpg with my 2.2 4cyl. I find that pretty good considering the size of the car.

Thanks guys.
Youngblood77: no prob..will do
alerospeed2003: had the vr4 when i was stationed in Japan, was not able to bring her back with me
Alero04: u too?? something has to be done.
brsexton: I'm not getting anywhere close to 30 MPG, let a lone 32+ I seem to be in 24-26 MPG range. See my posts in the 2.2 forum.
edit: I either have a GL or GLS..my sales slip says GL, but the car fax report says GLS..?? -shurgs-

I dunno, but If I found a black or dark silver eco coupe with a 5 speed, leather, and the sun'n'sounds package, I'd be on that thing like a fat kid on a cupcake.
