i have alero 2000 2.4l GLS .with 31000 miles but i feel that the ride is to harsh
is this the nature of alero suspension or something is wrong.i notice that in hot days the ride is more comfortable. is there any after market shock absorber that
improve the ride

I think ur trippin. The Alero ride pretty nice at stock form. A lil sporty, yet drivable. If u think its harsh, i dunno...maybe ur used to ridin in caddys or lincolns??
Also, I see no reason why the ride would change at hotter temps.
There are quite a few diffrent spring and strut combos u can get aftermarket. But they most likley make the ride more stiff.

ok, I shouldn't even get into this one....
31,000 miles on a 2000 model car = sit too much = expanded/contracted seals = worn seals = bad ride. Hot days seals swell and actually do their jobs?
I'm probably not even close here.....best guess.

Your tires have alot to do with ride quality also. Your tires could have somthing wrong with them. I know from my old car that tires play a VERY big roll in harshness. If the tires on your car are the same ones that came on it new, odds are they need to be replaced.

there's a couple different suspension options on the alero too...there is the sport suspension package and then normal. The sport rides a little more rough, obviously than the regular....could be it? Who knows, but the warmer temps......eh?

Check your service parts identification label on the underside of the spare tire cover, look for the 3-digit code that starts with "FE". FE3 is the "performance suspension"

perhaps the car needs an alignment if the ride is truly harsh. Or, you might want to drive where there aren't too many potholes.

ok my car is FE3 with the sport suspension so now i understand why i have uncomfortable ride on rough road
the alero sport suspension have stiffer springs 23% front 14% at the rear. the struts tuned more aggressive and the bushing is harder ,
the stability improve but the ride suffer.

did you think you bought a cadillac or something? it rides fine, really fine actually. go drive a cavi or something if you think the alero is bad.

If u still have the original tires.... the sport suspension came with Good Year Eagle RS-A tires. regular would be Good year Eagle LS tires
