Since everyone is talking bout color I figured I would ask a question that Ive had. Has anyone powder coated their headers? I got a killer deal on ebay from TOG (540 shipped for the silver ceramic headers) and was thinking about having them coated. Besides the downside of voiding the warranty, which is pretty big, I cant think of anything else but figure the coating would help with any heat issues. Plus I thought it would look really cool since I havent seen anyone elses photos with coated or painted headers. What do you people think on this matter.

it only voids the warranty if it causes problems, if I remember correctly.

I wish that was the case but this is directly off of their website:

The Other Guys Performance Products, Inc. (TOG) warranties to the original purchaser, for life, each new header set to be free of defects in materials and workmanship; including, but not limited to, tube cracks and welds. Should any TOG exhaust product be found defective, it may be returned to the original place of purchase or shipped freight-prepaid to The Other Guys Performance Products. To expedite the handling of your warranty claim please Email us with a detailed description of the problem and include any pictures, if possible.

This warranty applies to the repair or replacement, at our discretion, of the product only and specifically excludes cost of removal and installation. Problems related to the coating of these products are not covered under the warranty and the application of ANY aftermarket coating or header wrapping specifically voids all warranty's.

smlzalero is an unknown quantity at this point
The warranty part sucks, but it would probably look pretty good.

reseach it.

I wrapped mine but they were not coated. Coating does add a bit of bling and it's supposed to keep a lot of the heat in

will powdercoat hold the extreme heat that headers deal with? i'm going to wrap mine with header wrap and paint the outside of the wrap with high heat paint.

I stand corrected. How much longer is your warranty?

The headers come with a limetime warranty. And that will probably be the reason why I dont get them coated. I have no concern about the temperatures because I know it can withstand them and it is definitely better than the ceramic coating that they come with from TOG.

The funny thing is I had never looked into getting anything powder coated until this and I just found out that Charlotte is big into this process. They just had a national conference on powder coating here last year so that people could tour three large facilities in and around charlotte.

Now that the 4th has passed and the working people are back at it I have 4 different numbers to call for pricing and info to help me make my decision. I will let you guys know how it goes. If this doesnt turn out favorably I will probably just wrap the headers like you guys are talking because I dont see how TOG would know if they were wrapped or not.
