ok heres the problem i have i got a 160 amp alternator, when i got it installed i had a low idle voltage so they sent me a smaller pulley, installed that and wasnt getting wicked pinging noises from what seemed like my power steering pump and tensioner pulley.........i replaced the power steering pump because i thought mine had been going even before the new alternator, same problem..........change the pulley back to the original one and no problem except for low voltage.......

so my question is to those with upgraded alternators.......what size pully's do you guys have, could you go out and measure? i current have what seems 2 5/16 - 2 1/2......and the smaller one they sent me is right around 2 1/8.........so im wondering if a 2 1/4 would be just right..........id appreciate it, thanks guys

geez no one lol?? well i talked to the people who i bought the alternator from and they say i need a smaller belt, what i dont understand is why it didnt do it with the stock alternator?? the new pulley is the same size, did the larger pulley stretch it out? is my belt worn out and i need a new one?
id appreciate your comments guys

lol deffinatly wierd.....you should ask the alternator people how much shorter of a belt you need, and im guessing your give them or osmeoen your belt number and they will calculate how many inches, mm's, or cm's you need to loose.

yea thats what im trying to figure it.....i know someone on here was talking about a shorter belt before i just couldnt find it.....and it made sense when i talked to them about the alternator having more resistance on the pulley due to it being wound tighter......i just need to know the stock size and ill try and figure how much shorter i should have it.....
