how do you remove the speaker covers from the rear deck...
then how can i place then back onto the carpeted piece...

Its best not to try to get to the speakers in that fashion, you'll probably break a clip holding them on. Look in the howto section there are some helpful posts on how to change the 6x9s...

only way is to grind down or drill out the plastic weld rivits and screw em back in. Or mask off the carpet and paint them on there.

hmm... my dads changin my 6x9s by just pulling off the covers, i think.
But he's a pro so i just let him do his thing..

i got huge soundstream 6.9's in and i simply held mine up high enough to get the speaker in. didn't have to remove it at all.

but i'd definitely like to remove it and paint it.
