So I get done wirirng some neons into the engine bay and in the front bumber middle hole, I start her up drive to get gas, get a full tank, go to work, go to start it and nothing. It starts for maybe a second then dies. I use our battery tester at advance and the battery tests good, the car wouldnt take a jump either, it just wont turn over does everything else...I have no clue what this could be and im low on cash(About 150$). Im thinking a fuel system problem but i dunno where to start, any ideas?

look under the car for leaks. if it's dry, I would guess that the fuel pump shorted out.

Could the relay be gone then, or do you think the atual pump is gone?

Back in January my pump shorted out. This sounds very similar to my situation. If it's not the pump, it might also be the starter motor. Have a dealer check it out.

If it is the starter, you could try banging on it with a big wrench. Sometimes if the starter is bad, beating on it will free it up. It's free and worth a shot- at least you could rule it out.

when you turn the key to the on posistion can you hear a hum coming from the rear. Thats the fuel pump. If you dont hear a hum then your pump aint working. My pump died at about 60,000KM.

Yea Im starting to think very strongly that its the pump, I spoke with a guy today with a 2.2 ecotec on his 02 sunfire, I was there actually to tlak to him abou the zex nitrous shot he had but he ended up saying it saved him one day when his pump went out, he told me that basically the J-Body pumps are crap and seem to go bad quickly, and if this is true Im thinkin of getting a performance aftermarket pump from work, I dont see the point in going oem if the pumps are crap,

check, check, triplecheck your battery connections even if they seem tight, and retry

You can rule out the battery cables or your starter ITS either the pump the relay or one side of the ignition coil burnt out I had both problems and the situation was the same I had power and everything and it turned over but would not fire my pump went at about 40k and my coil just went at 53k.

Wlel I was thinking about it, If it is the ignition coil that means both sides went out on both coils, because even if one side went out itd still crank but run like crap right?

2nd, the way our cars are set up, to test fuel pressure and stuff, the vavle is on the fuel line somehwre under the car(I have no clue where it is).

Pump relay shouldnt be out, I switched it with the A/C Compressor one whihc is the exact same and still nothing.

My guess is that the module went out. But thats just a guess, Its getting towed this morning and fixed.

Thanks for the ideas by the way

Will
