ok so its pretty damn cold outside today and i went to use my remote starter, i was troubled to hear or rather not hear the sound of my muffler , i wandered outside to see what the problem was only to sit inside and try to start the car to hear little ticking sounds ... tick tik tick tik tick tik when i put my car into the "On" position, when i try to start it the only thing that happens is the service engine light blinks a little bit and it makes that sound again, anyone have any ideas?

ur battery might be drained to the point it won't start.. our navigator had something wrong with one of the relays and it would drain the battery.. upon trying to start it, it would just "tick tick tick"... so that could be the problem

Sounds like a battery.

Beep the horn and try the lights to see if they work normally

if you're battery isn't dead, try checking to see if there's a loose connection on the terminal of the battery also.

My car did the same thing several times this month. I would get a jump and it'd be fine. I took the battery in to see if it was good or not and thye said it was good. I replaced last week, tired of getting jump starts. They also told me that I probably would have to replace it soon since it was original battery, my car is 3 years old. I am very pleased with new battery. Maybe you just should replace it if it's older battery.
