Dent know if this is in the right place, sorry if it isn't. I really want to put the Kato body kit on my car, the one from AAS.
Problem: Im 17 and i have a limited budget. :Noooo:
Will becoming a VIP member give me a reasonable enough discount to make it worth it? Any money i can save is good. Also, i wonder if you guys think that kit would look good in the electric blue my car already has?

The discount is 20% off the andy's kit. Earlier this year, I did the math, and the kit came out to about $550 after the discount. I'm not sure if the price has gone up or not since then.
Aleromod.com VIP members get a discount of 20% from Andy's.... you can become an Aleromod.com VIP for $20. That gets you 2 decals, and access to extra forums and a photo gallery.

Make some cuts in your other social expenditures and it should be easy to get what you want. I was 18 when I paid for my kit that after paint cost me > $2K. It's all a matter of how much you want it...

remember this though, the kits still has to be fitted, installed, then taken off and painted, then re-installed. That costs money too. I cut a LOT of things in my life in order to get the kit, more than most people know, and I couldnt be happier with my decision. There isnt anyone within 300 miles or so(that i know of) with a kitted alero. You gotta do what you gotta do though.

if you have any mechanical or body knowledge, all the steps above can be done yourself, except for painting (unless you know how to do that to)

Yea after everything was all said and done I payed about 4 grand for mine. But then again I got it molded, shaved, and painted. But you're still looking at 1500 - 2000 for body kit and paint. Unless you want to be really cool and drive around with a primer gray kit.

Yeah i am cutting back on a lot of stuff already, like the Xbox 360 I'm gonna postpone for a while. I also am trying to get some connections together with people in my school. One kid i know is real good friends with people in a body shop... maybe it will work out soon. I may end up buying a CAI first as a present to hold me off for a while. :P

I agree, get the VIP membership, save up for the kit, and the bodywork.
You'll be looking at about $1500 for Paint and install and of course the kit itself.
I say, and I know it's going to kill you, save up that much first, print out a pic of the kit, and go around to a few bodyshops and get an idea of the price to install

I have about $1700 or so saved up, and the only thing holding me back from saving a ton of money is the car insurance itself...$250 a month
I am wondering though, should I have the paint color matched, then have the kit sprayed to match the car? I think the paint may be different due to fading over time. On the other hand, i could save more and go for the whole car paint job... but i think thats too expensive.

im goin to school for autobody and i know personally that when u get a panel/ bumper or anythin painted its the shops responsibility to match the panels even if fading is a factor, they have tints and stuff for that. so just go to a decent shop
