Ok so heres the deal. A local customs shop did a paint job like this for a guys sunfire. I'm thinkin of doing the same thing but with royal blue or burnt orange bottom. And instead of the flame a tribal design.

What do you guys think

I'm not sure that would work with an Alero...or just as good. An Alero is not as curvaceous as a sunfire.

my feelings are, that you need to lower it, put new wheels on it, and get the bodykit first. thatys plenty of money and time. however, the paintjob is very nice and may not look bad. just remember that it's going to cost a pretty penny. good luck tho.

imo you need to do a lot more to the car before its worth a custom paint job. from the looks of it you need everything said above and then maybe some interior work before custom paint is worth the price imo since if you end up getting a kit ever it will suck to match and you will be paying to paint stuff twice (stock bumpers then the kit ones)

Well i actually was gonna wait until i get my kit, I'm thinkin about gettin the aas kit.

Anyways the curves will be a little different to match the kit

Thx for the comments

Oh my god what happened to that sunfire. I think that guy actually found a way to make it look worse.

 Thats prolly why he has won countless shows, Including big shows and small ones.

Might also be why he is sponsored and the sponsors that dont have him signed want him bad.

I guess your taste is different than other peoples.

word. it's not just a matter of opinion here. It's really bad.

On THAT paintjob, I would say "no" for it to be on an Alero. The dividing sliver line goes around the headlights nicely on the Sunfire. You'll never get a smooth line like that on the Alero...especially a 4-door.

And I thought you wanted to be original? Then you plan on copying somebody else's custom paintjob?

I think that style would look great on a hoe... I just would pick a different color scheme... like make the white border like orange or something.

YOu read pretty good, becuase if you look at the first thing on this thread i said i would change the lines to work for the alero, and i said i was gonna make the flame a tribal design or a dragon or something. Oh yea i also said i wanted to have an original ALERO That is a SUNFIRE

:shout: And i didnt ask what you thought about my spoiler, I asked about the paint job.

DOnt be so stupid. It gets old when you're constantly hatin. :shout:

okay, you're reading too deep into things.
1) A paintjob is a major decision and every part of your car comes into play...including the Erector set.
2) Fine, take ideas from other cars...just take notice of pretty much anybpdy else that has wanted a multi-color Alero with the color split that goes along the side: they typically come out horrible.
3) I'm not hating. You asked for opinions. You didn't ask for brown-nosing.

This is a very ugly idea of what im hoping it will look like in the end. Of course the colors wont be so bright and thick but im not so good with photoshop or paint.

Dang! that looks hot, could you maybe do the rear for me too, I may print this out and show my shop guys and see what they can do as far as time and $$ goes.

P.S.
can you make the top color a little lighter, more grey

Schimmel03

And to think, I usually get paid to do this. And I must say, I don't like two tones on aleros. Not curvy enough for two tone. But, I'm just trying to help you make and educated decision.

You have to give me a picture of the back.

Or even something like this if I could ever get it to look right.

Thought about it yes, but my way of thinking right now is to go for something you wouldnt see on many other hoes. YES even if it poeple think that my mods look bad(hence the wing) I like it, so for now im gonna stick with it. And I dont see many two tone alero's at all, as a matter of fact ive seen only one. Maybe im just being a rebel :gun: but hey I think it's turning out good.

Looks good though and i will be saving this printing it and showing my custom shop. If i get it i'll throw ya some credit. DId ya get that rear pic

Im not one for hatin on peoples ideas but I just hate it whenever i see those spoilers on ANY car. (in particular 4 doors) I mean I give you props for trying something different but its not different...every kid with a japanese car does this same stuff and custom or not the paint job is not good looking on the alero. Your best bet would be to follow the body lines of the car (just above the door handles) and split the two tone with a third color. Same color scheme or whatever. I dunno, you want my opinion?-dont do it

derek_ski99
01-16-2006, 11:57 AM
schimmel has the right idea...he actually worked with the body lines. maybe the orange just a tad lower on the sides and change the front to this..

Is it me, or is your spoiler tilted up, so its actually going to give you lift?

Nice work Derekski, that front is better.

FantomForceCustoms02

Just do one solid color, maybe with a fade from dark to light.

No my wing is not tilted up it's the way they painted it. look at the pic of my trunk

you get a gutter-slut to sit on your car??? I would get a stripper/model to do it in a bikini...but apparently you know your limits with that wing and all....haha

SilverBullet256
01-16-2006, 08:26 PM
first off two tone is fugly on aleros, no pug fugly, and two im with everyone else, lose the wing, its gaudy, does not work on any car and especially not an alero, and two functionallity of it is non existant, as for color, if you want something different get base color with a pearlescent color over it, so it isnt just two different colors, and last that sunfire is the fugliest thing in the world, well not ugliest but close, just because he has won shows doesnt mean it looks good, alot of people judge on amount of work done and well it is done, not if it looks pretty or not, some do, but alot of others just look for something that is really different, but anyway these are just my oppinions, take them if you want them or not
