well, here's some pics of the skeletons i build for my rear sub boxes. they weren't too hard to build, and i intend on stretching glass across the forms. should end up nicely. for a finish, i'm going to use the granite type spray paint to match the factory carpet.

thanks. the plans for the amp are to mount it in the spare tire well with a liquid blue neon under plexiglass. i'm pretty excited. the amp is down the road tho, doesn't have to happen quite yet.

alrite, tonight i picked up the rest of the materials for these boxes. i plan on glassing them in probably tomorrow at some point.

i also installed a high amp alternator that i had hand built locally. it's a brand new alternator, not a refurbed one.

and, i installed some cathodes. 2-12's at your feet, and 2-4's in the trunk. i also was wondering if anyone knew how to wire in one of those music transformers. i think i fried mine already. lol

looks like the usual black fleece

actually it's a spandex type material. i'm going to glass over top of that, and then bondo and paint.

looks good. but you should of gone with fleece.. that spandex won't hold up too well when the fiberglass gets hot after being mix with hardener. So your shape still distort from the actual layout right now.

thanks for the advice. it's not too late yet to go to fleece. i've been working on my kit so much i haven't had time to touch the boxes.

Those look sweet 2fst...I can't build anything for crap. Hmm, if you can make more, maybe you could make some money selling them to non-craftsmen like me? :heehee:

Look pretty nice, but I don't know if you care, they don't seem to be the same and I know the trunk isn't shaped the same on both sides, but your passenger side one seems to stick way out! (Just that I would let you know in case you didn't already, before you did the final glassing!)

By the way, what size subs are those for?

2fst4u
05-11-2006, 07:58 PM
they're for 12" subs. and, i know what you mean racin4jc. i'm going to make some final tweaks to that left one before i start on it. like i said, tho, i've been really busy.
also, glad to see another christian alero-modder.

Are you going to put anything over the subs to protect them? With their location right where things are being loaded they may be more prone to damage...just a thought.
