Factory freak? Or has my hard work paid off?

0-60mph in 5.533
I've yet to certify this at a track because well... I truly don't care how many seconds it takes my car to get me a speeding ticket. But the way I did this (and you can try it at home), is to record your run, freeze/step frame at the point your car leaves 0, insert a time code at this point and see what happens. Then as long as you watch your speedometer, you can pause and clearly see how quickly your whip gets to whichever speed. I ended this one at 90mph (140km) because my memory card ran out of space... but in reality, there aren't many long roads in this town to pull off a speed test without endangering somebody.

All you got is an intake and exhaust? Factory freak maybe, take it to the track and get a 1/4, it'd be nice to see.

Intake, exhaust, street wires and I got new fuel injectors, fuel module, ignition coil pack and plugs... I really noticed a difference after that stuff was replaced. Can you tell it's an automatic? Haha this thing roasts 5-speeds no problem. My 0-60 is going to be a lot better once I get new tires, my front tires are literally sitting at the wear line, the front end jumped a few times in that video.

Thats pretty ridiculous. Heck my best 1/4 was 14.9 at 92... around there. Thats about 14.7 to 90 then, and my 0 - 60 is like 6 seconds from when i timed it last. Wow. If thats accurate, I would say factory freak, or its supercharged and no one told ya :P

I think the most powerful part of the car is between the steering wheel and the drivers seat :coolio: haha

Secretly supercharged.. if only

The reason you whoop 5-speed cars is because you can only get them mated to a 4 cylinder. You have a V6.

telcart
08-08-2007, 01:19 AM
Really? I had no idea you couldn't get a 5-speed/V6... It did seem too good to be true heh

It makes me happy to hear that, I was actually very dissatisfied with the car before I got the fuel system work done... it just motors now.

Frostbite545
08-13-2007, 05:12 PM
Definitely... idc what you have to do, go to a track :p

And I thought my car was a freak... 15.395 with just the CAI back in the day.... but this is borderline crazy speed.

Current definition for an Alero factory freak is when you don't have the LIMG leak

^ so most everyone with a 4 cyl has a factory freak?

-Alero-
08-14-2007, 02:45 AM
Yeah but only until I get new rubber for my 19s

i bet if i was back on stockers i could lay out some nice 0-60. but once you get larger rims it will slow you down substantionally.

I'm pretty sure this car is going to be gonzo before I can track it... my buddy is coming back from Afghanistan in a few days and offered me $5000 for it.

Stage 3 CAI with K&N Cone (Driver side fender)
8.5mm Street Wires
BOSCH Platinum2 Plugs
2.25"/2.5" High Flow DTM

The ridiculous acceleration began when I got new fuel injectors, fuel module, ignition coils and street wires.

-EDIT-
REDINKULOUS? What the hell is that? It's making me sound like I'm retarded!

haha awesome, I get it now.
So here's an update, the other day my best friend got trashed, stole my car and took it off roding. He's now in jail in Ottawa. My car still works but handles very badly, with lots of vibration and some pulling to the left. Leave it your friends eh

that RPM gauge needle moves incredibly fast when it shifts.. my car does 0 - 60 in about 7.5 seconds, and it whines horridly loud cause my power steering pump is about shot. Got a new one on order.
