hey, i'm new here :)

ok....the other day i was getting an oil change and i had just realized that i never had checked my transmission fuel or even changed the oil.

i need help on finding the transmission stick?? anyone know where it would be?? i kept looking for a red stick but not found.

so, i read the owner's manual and it only talks about a transaxle, whatever that is?

the transaxle fluid cap is the only thing i found that remotely is like a transmission cap.

the problem is that there is no way for me to tell how much or little transaxle fluid there is.

so should i just for the hell of it add a little transaxle fluid?

thanks.

if yoru looking for a dipstick to check your tranny fluid... there isn't one.

yep no tranny stick. Should just have the fluid changed when the manual says to do it, which is every 50,000 miles.

dont just add tranny fluid. That can lead to increased tranny pressures and excessive wear on the clutches. If you think it needs to be checked jack up the car on all four corners and get it level. Then pull the check plug on the underside of the tranny and see if fluid comes out. Otherwise have a shop do it.

yup there is no tranny dipstick. For you to correctly read the level you have to jack it up level then remove the correct bolt, if tranny fluid runs out fast then its overfilled. It should run down slowly, the haynes manual tells you how to do it and which bolt to remove. good luck

^^ What they all said.

I checked it myself, but at the mech's shop, since the car has to be level to do this ;)

Thanks for your help everyone. I guess when i get more cash, i'll just go ahead and ask someone to change the oil for me cuz i'm assuming it's dirty.
