why try to pretend it is a quad 4?

Because its a nice change that isnt that far from the truth. Accoring to wikipedia the quad 4 (2.3L) and the twin cam LD9 are all the same family, so i can have a nice cover for 21 bucks shipped.

I agree with DOHC_tuner. See of you can find the High Output Quad 4 IDI cover.

I have the HO cover on my engine, but I cut off the "Quad 4" section and welded on the "2.4L Twin Cam" section from the stock cover. Since this picture I've smoothed it out so it doesn't look so rough. Turned out pretty nice.

Be lucky to find a W41 IDI cover, try ebay for the highoutput one or even the W41.

Ebays got nothing. Ill just keep looking for a Quad 4 HO idi.:p 150 seems a bit steep for a high schoolers budget.

When you look at replacing these, Is it just bolt on and off? Or would it involve Gaskets and Sealant?

When you look at replacing these, Is it just bolt on and off? Or would it involve Gaskets and Sealant? To add to what he is asking as well, just how hard is it to replace the spark plugs, and do you have to change the boots as well. Never changed them on this type of engine. Please help if you can.

Just bolt on. Yes you should do boots if you do plugs. When you swith the IDI cover just disconnect the plug on the right side of the cover and then remove all four top bolts ( I recommend that you also losen the fuel bolt to get some more play). Once the cover is off just switch the coil pack over and repeat backwards. Hope you find what you are looking for and enjoy.
