I know this has been thrown around a number of times before, but to further clarify since the terms are sometimes confusing ;)

It's very simple

low beam max wattage---55
hi beam max wattage-----65
fog light max wattage-----37.5

Anything more will melt the wiring and the plastic socket.

Don't buy blubs on eBay, spend the extra few bucks now and save $300 per headlight housing later

Just make sure if you are going to use the Japanesse and you want to use the stock wiring that you go with the lower wattage ones. If for some reason where you live doesn't have the low Japanesse ones let me know. They are easy to come by out here.

Actually you can go a bit higher and be okay. For example:

The Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs are 60/70 and you can use 55-watt bulbs in the fog lights without a problem. ;)

60/70 according to Sylvania's site. I don't recall what's on the box, I thought it said 60 (for the lows). Will look at my boxes when I get home.

hey jonez:
I have raybrig whitesonics...here's a link:
http://nlmotoring.com/catalog/product_info...products_id/458 (http://nlmotoring.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/25_33_112/products_id/458)

they look great! and so far i've had them in for about a month and a half and it doesn't look like anything is melting (when i last checked)...the description says 55watts with "95watt brightness" so i assume they are 55 watts. I cant tell you what it says on the box b/c it's in japanese
