i could also tap them into the guage harness to come on when it gets dark out too cant i? i believe those ones are grey and tan correct? tan beingthe negative?

gray is accessory lighting wire. controlled by the dimmer, turns on at night.

all solid gray wires in the dash are this.

for ground.. use any ground. even if you make your own.

so gray for positive on leds and black or metal ground for negative cant i just tap into black wire on dimmer switch?

is there something under the driverside dash that could be making close contact with bulb causing it?

Now that I think about it if you have led's running off of the dimmer switch depending on what voltage they require there may not be enough if you have the lights dimmed. Have you tried the lights with the dimmer all the way up in the on position? Do they flicker then? If not when you dim them do you notice that they flicker more the more you dim the lights? What kind of led setup are you running?

they get brighter if i click the wheel all the way up. if i even attempt to lower the dimmer they basically get so dim they turn almost off but i have the same led bulbs everywhere else in my car and they dont do that they dim down as i dim the wheel down only these two i just put in do the flicker and get brighter if i click it all the way up? they are 5 led 194 bulbs. i bet ur right cuz when i had them wired to the cigarette lighter they didnt flicker.

i noticed if i do anything that uses power they get dim like windows turn air on even brake. again wierd because my guages r connected same wires and they dont do it maybe ur right maybe i gotta try regrounding them maybe the grounds on the actual bulbs are not tight and clean enough idk if that would cause flickering and dimming though but its gotta be sumthin with these cause they are the only bulbs doing it.

You can try grounding else where and make sure the paint is off exposing the bare metal then ground the wires there. Also check your positive tap point to make sure that you have a solid connection. Are these wired in series or parallel to the circuit? This could have something to do with it as well.

also keep in mind... leds are VERY voltage sensative. i know mine dim when i roll up my windows, at idle.... but thats because my voltage is dropping due to the big power draw.

and dip in voltage, will result in them dimming slightly. halogens don't do this.

Upgrade charging system for LEDs? lol

im gunna redo the positive and make a new clean perfect ground and see if that works. the way they flicker with the engine so sensatively makes me think its just a bad ground eiher on the bulb or wire so ill try rewireing then try diff bulbs maybe this weeken and post if that helped thanks for advice i appretiate it!!
