I bought new speakers for the front doors and was wondering if I could just pry off the speaker grill to install the new one, or would it require taking the whole door panel off?

You're gonna be taking the panel off.

Pin behind window crank if you don't have power windows.
Screws behind door handle.
Screw behind red reflector.
Everything held on by clips so pop them all loose.
Lift panel out of the top gap.
Disconnect all electrical connections.
Reverse order for re-installation.
Oh... and good luck! :thumb:

Just take your time man and you'll be fine. If you break a clip or two, don't sweat it too much. Just make sure you get whatever tool you are using as close to the clip as possible before you pry. Other than that you really have nothing to worry about! Just a little time consuming. :)

if you see 4 wires going to one speaker dont be worried two are for the tweeters so just splice all the black/negative and red/postive wires together but dont remove the crossovers that are in heat schrink. or you could leave the tweeters disconected but you will loose out on clarity even with the best speakers, BTW ive taken my doors a part at least 20 times for power window problems and its very simple but as mentioned before be very careful, and a door pannel removal tool would be very useful.

Don't worry about breaking something when taking off the panels. Where there is a gap in the panel so you can open and close the door easier you will see a little piece looks about as long as a band-aid just like -> ( ) .. Take a flathead and pry that piece off and there should be 2 screws under there. Unscrew them and then take the flathead and go around the door panel and just pry it open. I've taken off and changed the panels on my car 8 times and it's really hard to break something so you'll be fine.
