yep.. buying pistons today so when they come in the block can be machined and then the engine reassembled.. the longest time i've been without my car operational was 2 weeks.. this time i haven't driven it since Oct 21.

Thanks! I like em a lot better in person than I thought I would from the paper catalog. I would agree that It needs lowered IF I didn't already have a problem scraping my bumper on parking blocks as it is.

Personally I think it's an okay height, but these cars really NEED 18's to look their best. Since I don't want to shell out the money for that, I'm considering buying some lowering springs since my car is in need of new shocks and struts anyway. Problem is that I wanted to buy the bolt on kits with springs/struts/mounts to have ALL new equipment.... it would just be more cash to switch em out and I don't know how or have many tools.

Yeah, I forgot that the bigger wheels would fill the wheel wells better, but also raise the car...duh!... noob

And yes, I need to be more careful with the parking blocks. The worst was when I pulled up on the car dolly to bring it from Texas to Indiana and I didn't notice the right wheel of the dolly was on the curb in front of my house... I tore up the bottom of the bumper under the fog light on the right pretty nicely. :/

They are GTP hood vents, that provide actual ventilation for heat release from the engine. They came off of my current alero before I got the first carbon fiber cowl.

the idiot in the van stopped short and i didn't have enough time to react

still need to replace the hood and work on the fender to get it alined correctly (radiator brace / frame was bent so it had to be bent back into place so now the holes don't line up making the fender pop out a lil)

good thing im on the other side of the country, and anyways, I'm getting better, when I was younger it was hard not to get excited behind the wheel, but of course after a couple niehbors threw rocks through the windshield, then preceeded to yell at me about there "kids and side streets, I learned my lesson.

I learned after my first accident when there are times to be careful and times when you can have a little fun and regardless it always has the potential to be dangerous...after the accident i made sure to practice up on my defensive driving at low speeds which payed off last January when I was on my way back to the school and it was mostly clear, being tailed by a semi and watching the road in front and my mirror to check the truck...as soon as i saw the patch of slush i let off the gas and checked the speedo and proceeded to go sideways at 65 and managed to recover because i had practiced pulling out of slides...the only other accident i have is when i was driving my dads crew cab long bed truck to school and a bus parked behind me, while checking the bus i barely got up against a ranger ( barely felt it and didn't even scuff the plastic on the bumper) and it did $500 in damage to the ranger.

as for the car. i honestly have no idea at this point. kinda sucks, apparently the turbo monte carlo there has been taking up the lift he has and i guess he finally finished that car, but he has not started on my car, or the customers car thats before mine. so HOPEFULLY the customer before me is done within 2-2.5 weeks... and hopefully mine will then be worked on next and back before ASS......

Damn you...lol...I really want to go I am just not sure about it...I would have to leave Thursday to get there Friday, if I leave after work thursday and drive through the night I would only lose a little over $100 in wages if I took off thursday I would lose a little over $200 and I don't know how much I would have to spend...I am currently down to about 16-18 mpg with an ecotec :( ...Getting fuel mileage fixed would definitely be a contributing factor...I need to replace the canister purge valve as it is currently epoxied together and then hopefully that will improve

Damn you...lol...I really want to go I am just not sure about it...I would have to leave Thursday to get there Friday, if I leave after work thursday and drive through the night I would only lose a little over $100 in wages if I took off thursday I would lose a little over $200 and I don't know how much I would have to spend...I am currently down to about 16-18 mpg with an ecotec :( ...Getting fuel mileage fixed would definitely be a contributing factor...I need to replace the canister purge valve as it is currently epoxied together and then hopefully that will improve

if you did go, which you should! id say leave friday if you could make it there through the night but youll miss the first day and probably be running on no sleep for saturday lol. hopefully you solve your mileage problem soon.

Not a great quality picture but it's the only one I could find & it's from the day we installed them. They're cool but I wouldn't recommend them. They're fiberglass and they aren't durable at all. I know it would take a lot of work, but I would recommend trying to build custom vents into OEM fenders, for durability reasons.

haha yeah i dont like anyone touching my car. clean it every day hate seeing peoples finger prints on it. so i now tell everyone DO NOT TOUCH THE PAINT. and i always got a microfiber towel on me in case some dumb @s touches it.

i dont even touch my own paint with my fingers. thats how crazy i am. :lol:

touching the paint doesn't bother me. Unless there is dust on it and you want to write something or wipe with your hand cause then your going to scratch it.

the thing is, unless you wear gloves opening and closing the doors, hood, or trunk there is going to get finger prints on the paint. If you do just grab and rag and detailer and wipe it.

I hate stone chips more than finger prints but a car is meant for driving.

Again they are both a work in progress. I am sorry they dont look that great. The grand am was a buddies project that he started about 6 years ago. I picked the car up off him for a mer 200.00 yes I know it looks like crap but hopefully when its done it will be 100x better.
The Alero I only paid 1100.00 for and was bone stock. So I am trying to do everything the right way and make it nice for my wife.
Also the door skins on the Grand Am where removed by the shop that installed the kit. Not sure why cause the side skirts did not interfere but I plan on shoothing out the doors to be rid of the indention.

While I still don't necessarily like the way that kit looks on the ga...i think that it could/could've looked ten times better if they didn't leave gaps you could throw a football through at all the seams

I am getting a new kit all the way around but I am not going to order from ebay like he did. im going through extreme dimensions directly. Once I get the new kit in then its off to be two tone painted purple and black. LOL and that wing sadly though has sentamental value. thats the only reason that its still on there. I Sold that specific wing almost 8 years ago. It managed to make its way through roughly 7-8 vehicles then I got it back from my good friend who just passed away from cancer. He had it on his Eclipse but asked me to put it on my car for him.

They are crooked, it was cut to fit a Saturn, doesn't exactly match the curvature. And it's been out there 8 months and through the worst heat wave in history, in high humidity. And it's the lower quality foamboard, paper, not plastic.

Actually, the two sides match, they just slope down from the center.
