I want to swap the stock lights for the dash for T-10 leds (194). There was a previous right up to use inverted T-10. Can you use focused leds, or do you have to use inverted because of the way the dash looks? Also, some bulbs have 3 or more leds on them, but would that be too bright under the dash?

I currently have 194 5-smd blue LEDs as my dash and it looks great! All you have to do is pop out the old bulbs and put the new ones in the old sockets. I soldered them into the socket for good measure.

Sweet thanks jhubbz, i was afraid maybe running a bulb with too many leds would burn out the board, but as long as they are 12 volts that should be fine right? Does the dash dimmer switch still work with the leds, can you dim them at all?

Thanks man

Car looks good by the way....I am trying to decide between red and blue. I has some previous halo white gauges and one of the connectors broke, so the fuel light does not light up now, the rest do! So, I am going to go back to stock gauges except I want blue or red bulbs. The only thing that worries me is that the old white face ones have a wire that connect, and when I follow it it goes deep into the car, I think for the inverter. I might just cut it, seeing I am going back to stock gauges instead of white face, and they don't use the inverter!

LEDs are usually not meant to dim. There are dimmable LEDs out there, but you have to look for em. If you try to dim regular ones, the resistance might burn out the LED. I just bypassed my dimmer (doesn't work at all) just so I don't do this.

I had pre wired LEDs installed under my dash connected to the theater lighting. They would dim to about 1/3 before going out. No problems with them.

Okay I might sound dumb here but I'm pretty new with changing out bulbs... Do the bulbs in the dash not come out of the socket??? Or how do you change them? Like I said, new at all this...

The ones already in there will twist out fairly easy, but the bulb will take some effort. On some models, there will be a small hole on the bottom of the socket that you can poke something through and pop the bulb out.
