I figured that it cant be that hard to make led tail light so first I came up with a design then I grabbed a old pair of lights and boom a http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/concept1_zps7d65a817.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/concept1_zps7d65a817.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/begining1_zpsb0788904.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/begining1_zpsb0788904.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/gotemhome1_zpscd2ee8ea.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/gotemhome1_zpscd2ee8ea.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/20130622_1713441_zpsba31f927.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/20130622_1713441_zpsba31f927.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/20130622_1527021_zpsae7191e4.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/20130622_1527021_zpsae7191e4.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/plasticgludin1_zps19073b53.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/plasticgludin1_zps19073b53.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/paintinside1_zps0864fc49.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/paintinside1_zps0864fc49.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/ruberonlens1_zps9ed8840f.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/ruberonlens1_zps9ed8840f.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/nolens1_zps1d7b4b0f.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/nolens1_zps1d7b4b0f.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/tinting1_zps50ba84d9.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/tinting1_zps50ba84d9.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/runninglight1_zpsc0288010.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/runninglight1_zpsc0288010.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/breaklight1_zps9ad1d469.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/breaklight1_zps9ad1d469.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/hazardson1_zps67e55a23.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/hazardson1_zps67e55a23.jpg.html) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t553/jeff19902/closeuptaillight1_zps4d82e907.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/jeff19902/media/closeuptaillight1_zps4d82e907.jpg.html)

Yes great job, what do the reverse lights look like?

Look stock, just tinted over.

those look pretty wicked man!! just in my own personal opinion, I would have reversed the rings... had the small ring as the running light and the larger outer ring as the brakes... make it as visible and distinct as possible... gonna have to see them in person soon :)

Those look sweet! I would have made the rings more spread out for better definition. Or two rings of brakes and one running. I'm paranoid about getting rear ended.

the reverse are just the plain bulbs and you can't see the third break light but I but I fix that and its easy to see the breaks ill take a good picture of breaks tomorrow

Did I mention my paranoia? I had mine made special so that all 4 lot up as brakes just in case.

They don't look THAT bad but something about the part of the tail light that is connected to the trunk just looks empty with one set of rings near the inside.

I know what u mean after I was done I started thinking what if I used 12 rings instead of 8.
and I cut them apart with a dremal and yes I did re use the lens
it really wasn't that hard to make just time consuming, the led strips cost the most

so did the lights sit further in because they were cut?
and whats up with the cloths pins

I think they were holding the rubber lining to the lens.
jeffrey1990

yes they was holdin the rubber to the lens and they sit pretty much stock because of the rubber on the lens

I still give props for doing this, just not a fan of the way you went with them. And vht wears off after awhile just fyi, i had to redo mine quite often when i had tinted tails, you should look into a clear coat/black paint mix for the tails. They will be really shiny and wont fade.

is there a store that sells that or a brand you recommend, I did clear coat them to - three times..... plus im most likely buying a new car within a year

You can mix it yourself, or find a paint shop that will do it.

He said on one of the other posts the stuff came from superbrightleds...
Hey btw, what did you use to reseal them? Just silicone or did you use a.plastic.weld material?
jeffrey1990
11-29-2013, 01:05 PM
I did get them from super bright led and I used this stuff called amazing auto goop to seal them. that amazing auto goop is like franks I put that ish on everything. btw tw0123 are you workin on some I saw a pic of some nice custom tails all out lined by a led running light i think there yours?
tw0123
11-29-2013, 01:51 PM
Ya man... those are mine... that's why i wanted to know how you sealed yours hahaha
I'm almost finished my boards and getting close to sealing them... just deciding what to do with the turn signals and reverse lights... i have more pictures just haven't had the time to post them...
jeffrey1990
11-29-2013, 06:37 PM
do progressive turn signals with big leds like a few in a line or small ones in a rectangle

I see a lot of guys have some things to say, but I for one think its bloody awesome! That looks ballz out dude, nice friggin work. And A+ for the effort!
Edit... Tim, Gorilla Glue is your new friend

I thought about progressive turns but they're expensive lol... i do budget builds haha... my leds cost me $20... still not sure what i want to do with the lenses either... keep them.stock, dark tint or just all red again... they're going on the silver car...
Thanks for the tip Paul, i saw that stuff at Canadian Tire the.other day....
jeffrey1990
11-30-2013, 06:56 PM
Thanks, I try lol but tim I was looking at them and a cool turn signal would be like a amber strip along the inside of the running light but only the bottom half of the tails......?
tw0123
11-30-2013, 10:42 PM
that's what I am thinking... just have to see if I can find a cheap amber strip lol... might just use the white leds I am and then decide on the lens itself... leave it red/orange stock, or tint it either black or all red like my current set is...
jeffrey1990
12-01-2013, 01:07 AM
Ya white would be different might as well if you got that roll
tw0123
12-01-2013, 11:45 PM
that's why im thinking of leaving the lens stock, or doing an all red tint so the white leds will still shine red through the lens...

I like the idea, but I don't like how the rings were set in. I feel they're too small, but ay can't beat your own workmanship.

How did you get the circles?
On the images it looks like they are originally arranged in a circle, but I have never seen circle shaped LED stripes.

Yeah, but where do you get it?
I searched the internet, but didn't find any.

Ok, I got it now by searching "Angel Eyes"
