OK this is the deal. I cut out my form with cardboard and now I am trying it figure out if I want the scoop in the middle of the hood or off set on the drivers side.
If I do the off set it will be use for a ram air set up. If I do the center it will be just for cool air to get in the engine bay and the scoop will be a little wider and shorter and the off set will be the same height but wider. So what do you all think. Here are some picks

Do a ram air hood, no one on Aleromod has one and they dont even make them for Aleros.

Actually daniel, Robbie had one on his car, although it probably wasn't functional. ( It may or may not be on the car still, but the fact still remains....it's been done before: http://www.alero.org/gallery/bigimages/hood1.jpg
To get back on topic: If I had to choose between the two locations you've layed out, with no critisism, I'd have to say the driver's side. G/L with your hood project man...although what you've got going there isn't my style, kudos for being origional. :thumb:

I would say that the way to go would be the driver side, I was thinking about doing something similar at one time but using the old GTA style vents for the purpose of ram air GL man

i say cut a hole in your hood and duct tape the cardboard on there.......weight saver and cooling the engine lol

I don't think that style fits on an alero too well. Why not try a mustang cobra style scoop?

I would say 442 hood if you are going to anything. The one scoop offset looks like a rally car.

has anyone seen the SIBILL hood on NFSU2 that hood would probably look good on the alero if positioned right. also what abouyt the grand am sc/t hood style on the alero, i'd like to see that

i would suggest doing one scoop on each side, like the 442, one, but have the dirver side as a ram air scoop and then have the left side as cooling, it will prove more than one purpose

Thanks. That was like my very first photoshop. I did that and it was the pic on the very first aleromod.com homepage. It was also the hood that the owner of Aleroboard.com was supposed to produce for me and 2ndAlero, but we both got ripped off :(
I think that hood would be killer on an Alero.

i like the offset but please tell me that the scoop you make will not be so square i hope that you are going to round it out a tad, other than that i cant wait to see it finished.

that hood in the pic w/ the pink/white alero is horrible IMO but maybe it's just the body kit that makes it that bad...by itself i bet it'd look alright...I like this hood a lot:
http://www.alero.org/gallery/bigimages/scoop-4.jpg
But the ram air style would be awesome (either SC/T or Trans AM):

Ok here is the bascie idea for the 442 look i shade it gray to get the shape of what it will look like. It is 4" from the side of the hood, 7" from the center and 3" from the font and it is 33" long and will flow in to the back of the hood. The opening will be 1", 1 1/2" or 2" wont know till i mock it up.
I used a grease pen to get the measurements and write them on the good hood.

that WS6 hood scoop looks like ass on our car.
i actually like the layout and style of the intrigue 442 beeter than the alero 442 hood. the intrigue hood stays true the original W-25 hood

the only part of body kit on the alero 442 is the aurora front bumper with 1970 442 grilles

The other thing I might do when I paint it is have Alero and 442 ghosted in on the scoops. Not 100% sure on that.
