Since I'm in school now next time I go home and have time I'm going to install my amp/subs in my 02 Alero
As I said in my introduction thread I installed an amp in my civic but when I first tried with the Alero I just got realllyyyyyyyyyyy confused...
any hints, tips, words of wisdom for me before I start......?

Umm... pull out lots of plastic panels, Run wires, poke hole in firewall grommet to run power cable. Put back all the plastic panels to hide wiring. Connect and done. If you have stock headunit, you'll need a Line Out converter to use RCA's.
Simple.. if you did it in ur civic .. the alero is the same.

your power wire is ran through a grommet to the left of the big steer wheel grommet. It was easier for me to see where it came out when i rolled under the car but would be nice to have long arms to grab the wire down there to pull it through. Also point the subs firing back towards the end of your trunk and not at the rear seats unless you seal off your trunk. Have fun.

The easiest way I have found to run the power wire through the grommet is to use a clothes hanger fully extended and poke it through and use it to pull the wire through. Otherwise, as Kampfer said, you're going to have to crawl under your car where as this way you can just pull the clothes hanger up and you're good to go.
Also if you're going to replace or have plans on replacing your rear speakers, now would be the time to do it while you have part of the back of the car torn apart. If you really want to get the power wire hidden and installed correctly you are already going to be back there, so why not just make 1 big mess and do it all right rather than tearing it apart again?
