Bad99Olds 03-25-2009 05:49 PM

i actually got so drunk once i was looking in a mirror and dancing with myself, thoroughly convinced i was the best looking person there. narcicism and excessive alcohol intake can be fun.

here's what i've thought of, but i don't know if there's a logical order to go in:
-buy kyle's OSV kit
-build spare motor
-boost the hell out of it

fixed.....

99alerogirl 03-28-2009 06:37 PM

alright, got info from a guy at work on turbos and what all is needed, and I'm gonna build my spare engine for a turbo. what all do I need to build? heads? what else?

the amount of boost you plan to run dictates what your engine build needs to include. how many pounds do you plan on running?

kwhauck 03-28-2009 10:19 PM

i would get pistons, no matter what just to be safe, besides that, it depends on boost #s......

99alerogirl 03-29-2009 12:35 PM

i want to run at least 10psi i think... but then again i don't exactly know, still just in the thinking stage right now. but i was told that 1 psi is roughly equal to 10 hp?

of course that number goes down as you increase boost, loss of power and such occur

leoalero 03-29-2009 12:58 PM

you cannot calculate psi with horses, you can,but it depends on what turbo you have,PSI is compressed air,not the flow,a big turbo will spool more flow but could be too big for your engine, creates turbo lags!not an expert in it but i think it works like that

well, dont forget, 10 PSI through a straw and 10 PSI through a 4" pipe, there is a difference

99alerogirl 03-29-2009 03:28 PM

is 10 psi a good place to start?

for you....yea probably. until you get everything built up and it runs good.....then you will get greedy and want more PSI. happens every time;)

dhurst765 03-29-2009 04:08 PM
