No Interior Lighting
I read through a ton of search results but wasn't able to find anything.
All the interior lighting stopped working all at once, this includes the dome light, map lights, and floor lights. I checked all the fuses, and all of them were good. What else do I need to do here? I'm stumped. |
Including your gauges?
Not one blown fuse? at all? crazy |
No, the guage illumination does work. Its all of the courtesy lighting that went out.
|
its gotta be a fuse, check them again
|
when you figure it out let me know...ive been trying to figure out how to turn them all on/off with a swith haha
|
Completely off topic, Gr1m I can't read what your avatar says...
|
Thread destroyer^

I checked them all twice. |
I can only guess your tallights still work, otherwise your SVS light would be on and you'd be stuck with the issue I have. And you checked all the fuses? Only thing left is the relays, right?

Yeah everything else is working. Anyone know if the interior lighting goes through a relay? |

![]() now back on topic (like anyone will even notice i wrote under that picture) :glare: Check your dimmer switch, since thats kinda the relay for your interior lights, if its blown, it could cause power to not go to anything. Also check to make sure the bolts in the middle of the fuse box are tight. One of mine loosened, once, and it caused shorts all over the place. |
The dimmer is fine. Additionally the trunk light and hood lights are included in this deal as not working.
And will a mod please clean this thread up for me, I really need to get this fixed. |
check the accesorry fuses under the hood, replace all the acc fuses, i had em beofre that didint look blown but they were...
|
mine does the same thing, but it only does it randomly, but when they are working my stario stays on when i turn of the car and my horn honks when i lock with my fob, but when they arnt working my stario turned off like its supposed to and there is no sound when i lock with my fob
|
...sry to jump in on ur problem i just figured we might have the same problem
|
supposed to honk with the Fob...
|
so if the dimmer is fine... then its gotta be something between the lights and the dimmer.
check this thread... i was having similar issues not to long ago. http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showt...tracing+shorts |
have you checked your actual wiring? I'm no expert but I do know that if they are all run in a series circuit then any damage to the wire would affect all your lights.
|
If you have all good fuses, u prolly just got a short in the box somewhere, check all of the bolts, metal tends to cause shorts.
|
Did you check the "INT LPS" fuse in the passenger side fuse panel?
|
Quote:
Yes, I checked ALL of the fuses, twice. |
yea fuses arnt the problem, i have checked several times
|
Could be a BCM issue...

So that ultimately the decision maker on when to send current to the lighting, after signals are sent from the doors? |
basically.
your signal wires come from the sensors into the fuses, then to the BCM then back out to their destinations. |
if they are in a series circuit a out light will cause it?
|
No they are not wired in series.
|
are they still out? check to make sure your emergency brake is all the way down (pull it, then put it up, then drop it all the way back down)
|

They now work intermittently. And what would the e brake have todo with anything? |
i noticed with my ebrake pulled, my interior lights didn't turn on, from when the car is off. don't know why.. but they didn't.
it really messed with me the first few times i was finishing an LED project. get everything wired, then BAM don't work. WTF!! put that back down, and they click on immediately. |
Weird. Well I don't use the ebrake, so anyways...
|
hmm, check anyway?. not fuses. not ebrake.... odd
check fuse box bolts(both sides), to make sure they are tight? pull your BCM out, and see if its intact/uncorroded? |
Its alright, I don't care about it anymore....
|
The interior lights do not come on if you have your e-brake pulled up. I guess thats a "feature" with our cars.
|
I don't use the ebrake, its an auto......
|
Unplug your battery and leave it off for like an hour. Then reconnect.
The EXACT same thing happened with my Aurora when I changed my headlights (relation between the 2? Hell if I know.), no courtest interior lamps, but they came on with a switch, and the radio wouldn't stay on after the key was off. Also the Key FOB didn't work. My battery went dead one night that I left the interior lamps on w/ the dimmer switch, and when I jumpstarted it everything worked and has been working sense. My guess is it reset something in the BCM. |

I've already done that a bunch of times for other reasons. |
