Cruise Control?

On my steering wheel i have a On/Off Cruise control button. when i press it the light comes on but it wont stay on unless i hold it. so if i wanna drive with cruise control I have to hold the button the whole time. it doesn't stick or anything it just doesn't stay on when i press it. how do i fix this?

you need to replace the switch

alero0924 07-25-2007 01:35 AM

where should i take it?

antichrysler 07-25-2007 01:36 AM

You could just do it yourself. I've never done it personally but I'm sure someone else on here has.

I had the same trouble with mine at one point. Disassemble the unit and check to make sure that the retaining clip portion is not broke. If it is...I am sorry but I new switch will be about 90 bux. If not then you may just have knocked it out of place

I just "fixed" mine about a week ago. I took it apart and placed a piece of plastic between the rubber pad and the plastic plunger that actually pushes it down, so that the pad is permanently depressed. I don't really see the point of the switch anyway, it doesn't hurt anything for the system to be on all the time, as long as you don't mind the light above the switch always being lit. It just does the exact same thing as never turning the switch off, which alot of people never do anyway.

alero0924 07-25-2007 08:23 PM

thats tru, and i dont mind it being on all the time. so how did you go about taking it apart??
