No Interior Lighting

I read through a ton of search results but wasn't able to find anything.

All the interior lighting stopped working all at once, this includes the dome light, map lights, and floor lights.

I checked all the fuses, and all of them were good. What else do I need to do here? I'm stumped.

AGT 10-03-2008 11:03 AM

Including your gauges?

Not one blown fuse? at all? crazy

CactusWill 10-03-2008 11:06 AM

No, the guage illumination does work. Its all of the courtesy lighting that went out.

Gr1m 10-03-2008 11:41 AM

its gotta be a fuse, check them again

deathwish666 10-03-2008 11:53 AM

circeansleeper 10-03-2008 11:55 AM

I checked them all twice.

CiscoPath 10-03-2008 02:04 PM

I can only guess your tallights still work, otherwise your SVS light would be on and you'd be stuck with the issue I have. And you checked all the fuses? Only thing left is the relays, right?

Yeah everything else is working. Anyone know if the interior lighting goes through a relay?

now back on topic (like anyone will even notice i wrote under that picture) :glare:

Check your dimmer switch, since thats kinda the relay for your interior lights, if its blown, it could cause power to not go to anything. Also check to make sure the bolts in the middle of the fuse box are tight. One of mine loosened, once, and it caused shorts all over the place.

CactusWill 10-03-2008 07:57 PM

The dimmer is fine. Additionally the trunk light and hood lights are included in this deal as not working.

And will a mod please clean this thread up for me, I really need to get this fixed.

Nate's Alero 10-03-2008 08:09 PM

check the accesorry fuses under the hood, replace all the acc fuses, i had em beofre that didint look blown but they were...

umm_i_forget_14 10-03-2008 08:13 PM

mine does the same thing, but it only does it randomly, but when they are working my stario stays on when i turn of the car and my horn honks when i lock with my fob, but when they arnt working my stario turned off like its supposed to and there is no sound when i lock with my fob

umm_i_forget_14 10-03-2008 08:28 PM

...sry to jump in on ur problem i just figured we might have the same problem

Nate's Alero 10-03-2008 08:38 PM

supposed to honk with the Fob...

cherrington17 10-03-2008 08:42 PM

so if the dimmer is fine... then its gotta be something between the lights and the dimmer.

check this thread... i was having similar issues not to long ago.

have you checked your actual wiring? I'm no expert but I do know that if they are all run in a series circuit then any damage to the wire would affect all your lights.

Chipmunk-Alero 10-04-2008 12:54 AM

If you have all good fuses, u prolly just got a short in the box somewhere, check all of the bolts, metal tends to cause shorts.

Cliff8928 10-04-2008 02:35 AM

Did you check the "INT LPS" fuse in the passenger side fuse panel?
