21" sub in my Trunk
Thats right, no Typo
i said it couldn't be done im shooting for a massive box, with a forward firing square port. already got the juice, just need an amp, that'll be next week. probably going for an AP3500.1 only 399.99. EDIT: Just measured, biggest box i can fit is through the cab, door off , might have to take seats and consol out to get it into car is 34Wx15Hx 30D = 7.23cubes with a wood displacment of .75. |
good luck getting a 21"x16" in the trunk with a 6cube box
|
replace backseats?

box in first, cutting box set sub in fix box from inside and outside, done. SPL isn't pretty. Quote:
done it, didn't have the output i wanted and no passengers or place for my junk, it sucked. http://www.myspace.com/ianp35 check my pics. |
i was wrong mounting depth is only 11 7/8's this is going to be cake! if i bring the height down to 14" i can slide sub and box in at once.
|
Hmmm, 5 x 5 port needs only about 6-8 inch depth for 30-34 hz tuning. Guess it can be done, should be interesting. What tuning are you going for?
|
5"x5" port is WAY to small...
21" sub? What is it? Audiobahn? Clarion wok sub? Jackhammer? (22"). Only other 21" sub I can think of is an old Autotek sub. |

If he goes larger than that, though, the port length will have to be deeper, and it will cut into his 6 ft enclosure volume. |
is there even songs that that wil be functional? i mean bass is cool if we can here it but if only the dogs are ahowlen then it is kinda useless eh? lol
|
Please put up pictures after you attempt this lol

humans can hear down to 20hz. (very few people can hear 15hz) dog whistles are around 22khz, in which human hearing stops at 20khz...which is tweeter land. Subs don't do that kinda frequency |

30-32 hz its nice and from the boxes i have built for 15's in that region, they alway come out with a nice flat response. Quote:

will do a build log. |

25 sq inches of port is to small. Got port whistle? |

lol itll probably be 14x14 or so i havent ran it through a calculator yet. |
ok had to do some adjusting after i measured box will be 34Wx15Hx29D @ 6.98 cubes tuned to 34 according to the12volt.com, though i would like to run these through WinIDS first, if i can figure out how to get box calculations out of it, and if i can find the specs, i called incriminator audio and there closed becouse they went to the CES show in vegas until tuesday....
|
Make sure to check the velocity tab...
200 Sq In might still be a bit small. |
DAMN 21 inch subs what is the RMS on the sub.

For a 14x14 port size my calc came up with 4.3 ft duct length for 34 hz, 7 cu.ft......what calculator are you using? That would take up over 4 extra cu.ft of space, so I hope it's wrong, I did not recheck the math. But even one cu. ft. of depth would throw the tuning off. |

using the one on the12volt.com and the RE box calculator. at 13.5x7 in getting 94 sq inches. i need the specs from Incriminator audio to punch it in to WINISD to make sure my velocity isn't going to be too much but i have a feeling it will be.
