Port injection is a lot different than the direct injection that the article talks about. Fuel is still mixed with air in the intake, not injected directly into the cylinder.

There's a lot more GDI cars on the market now... it's definitely the way of the future. GDI allows you to run higher compression so you can get more power from the same amount of fuel = greater fuel...
