Blower does only work in 3 and 4 (and not in 1 and 2)
hello,
My Alero 2001 2.4 has a problem.
The blower (dash air vent) doesn't work in 1 and 2,
i checked the fuses, and they are alright.
Does somebody know where i have to look ?
greetings
Patrick (Netherlands Europe)

it's the resistor for your blower motor. classic GM problem.

Its under the passanger side dash, behind the blower motor, Its a bit tricky to get to. its a little circuit board, so when ou take it out, you will see the bad traces i think they are called. If I remember correctly, its has a 4 wire harness going into it. hope that helps.

that looks like the one, I'm sure you can measure it, although I never did before. But I'm 99.9% positive thats what is causing your problem.
now that I think about it, it makes sense that there is 5 wires going to it.

I've got an offer from a german part distributor he wants about 38 US$ for the resistor.
Can anyone provide me with the "official" price from GM?

I paid $20US for mine at Murray's, but they probably have to import it all they way to Germany, so that sounds like a fair price. You could check gmpartsdirect.com, but I don't know if it'd ship that far (or what it would cost).
