the big 3 mod

while reading the thread that jayson_waltz posted on if he needed a capacitor, i decided to do some research on "the big 3" that ryan from ohio mentioned on that thread. i did my research and i found this on another forum for the big 3. i just want to see if this is correct.

The Big 3 Are:
1. negative battery wire to ground - just replace the negative batt. terminal and wire and ground it to the factory location
2. engine block to ground - replace the ground wire from the engine block to the chasie with a bigger wire (maybe 4 guage)
3. alternator to batt - add a fused wire from the postive post on you alternator (the one comming from the battery) to the postive terminal on your battery. DO NOT exchange wires just add a extra one. make sure it fused the same size as your factory fuse.
hope thats helps

Note on #2- Some cars have a batt-engine block connection stead of chassis to engine block...

and here is an image:

is this correct?

Ryan from Ohio will become famous soon enough
Thats it...

The wire for the engine block usually goes from the transmission to the frame. Its right in front on most GM V6's.

bigger wires carry more amps with less voltage drop, so you get a more reliable electrical system and less load on the alternator and battery

oh ok. so the connector from the engine block is in front, but where exactly? what do i have to look for? and for the battery to ground: do i leave the original one on and add the 4 guage to the chasis or what do i do?
