Alpine by far. But find a amp that is 1 omp stable or 2. I would go with dual though with subs. If you got ?? let me know. Not trying to go off topic but check out Crossfire Subs those bad boys are sweet. I got 2 15s and about to go custom enclosure with 2 more.

No prospero, he doesn't need a 1ohm stable amp. Those aren't exactly Type-X subs he's running.
Are you getting two subs or just one? With that amp, if you are getting two then go with the single 4ohm sub but if you are getting just one then go with the dual 4ohm. Me personally, I've never really liked Alpine. Granted I've never heard their subs, but I have their 6.5" speakers and amp in my Ski Nautique and my brother used to use their cd players. I do love Infinity though. I have a Infinity Perfect 12.1 sub and it sounds amazing. Others on here will vouch for Infinity as well.

No 1 omp man your crazy this is what I do for a living. If you go ahead and get a 1 omp amp that leaves you room to improve. If a amp is 1 omp that means it will carry 2,4 your talking to the pros man. But here i will say this since people are obvisouly trying to get your setup to totally fall apart. Get a 1 or 2 omp amp. If you have any ?? man contact me Ill have it hittin the way you want.

He doesn't want to spend mucho dinero, it's for his MOM, and it's a Ranger. Stop trying to act like the big audio pro and just answer the guys questions without the "this is what you should do because I'm the pro" crap. (no offense)
Elitecloud:
1) you don't need a 1ohm amp
2) your system will not fall apart
3) your mom should be pleased
Have you decided to stay all alpine or go with the infinity subs? Let us know how it goes once you get it all together and happy shopping.

Don't forget that the less resistance the sloppier the sound...if you want clean sound stay around the 4ohm...2ohm isn't too bad either...it'll give you more bass than the 4ohm...and that's what Alpine is known for is for clarity.

I have to side with TheSoundDemon on this one. Look for the amp that matches your needs. In some cases a 1 or 2 ohm digital will be the better deal. In his case, the subs he wants to power are not spl subs. They won't require a large amount of wattage and a good 4 ohm bridgable sub could be bought cheaper than a crappy 1 ohm digital. In the occassion you do want more wattage, 1 or 2 ohms does not mean automatic good deal. In most cases the cheaper 1 ohm digital amps are worthless for SPL subs. The more power you have to put into your sub the harder it is too get a clean sound. That is where the amps damping factor comes into play. The higher the value, the better the amp can control the subs movement. If you have a expensive spl sub, a high damping factor won't be needed. If you have a 200 dollar sub rated for 2000 watts it will need a damping rating above 600. Amps rated that high tend to cost close to one grand retail. Another way to improve the damping would be increasing the enclosure thickness to at least 1 inch and brace all corners securely. Lots of factors come into play to get the good sound. 1 or 2 ohm amps are not going to define the quality of your sound alone. But, being a pro you already know that. So concider this post a worthless waste of yours and my time.
Honestly man. Don't try to take offense. We aren't here to bash you. Just think about your responses. If someone disagrees with you don't go hating on him and using vulgar language. You may have more experience than him, but you won't gain anyones respect. In my opinion the respect gained from helping others is what truly defines the pros. After all, we all have things to learn. Later, Mike.

I'm pretty sure that's right. Mono amp, two single 4ohm subs wired together, should make the output 350w on that amp. Correct me if I'm wrong mike.

The drawing looks like the subs are in serial. That will give two 4 ohm subs a 8 ohm load. You want to wire it in parallel to give it a 2 ohm. It is pretty simple. Just wire the amp positive to both sub positives. The amp negative to both sub negatives. If you are unsure, here is JL's tutorial. It is a life savor for installs. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=160

Did you wire up the alpine or your kicker amp at 2 ohms? I missunderstood and thought you were asking how to wire the alpine. The alpine is a mono channel amp. It can handle the subs at 2 ohms because it isn't bridged. Your kicker most likely can't be wired in 2 ohms bridged. Let us know what amp you have and what current speakers you have.
