console hellllllp
ok im trying to remove my center console and having no luck i am having trouble getting to the bolts btwn the seat any ideas? also where are the bolts in the back of the console icant find them. I read the how to but need some pics or something. could i use a 10mm socket for the bolts or a 7mm? plzz help...

assuming you have the automatic, reach behind the shifter and pull out the staple, lift up on the shifter, and pull the surrounding piece straight up, disconnect ETS, take out the light. that will get you started. i never took out the seats or whatever you're trying to accomplish so icant help you anywher past that

there are two plastic pieces that cover screws all the way at the front of the car, near the secondary cig lighter and on the opposite side if those are the screws you are talking about.

take the seats out. bolts on the back of the seats, lean the seat back, lift seat forward toward the windshield, then up and out.

so taking the seats out would be the best thing to do if i want totake the console out right? yes i have an automatic. what i cant find is the bolts on the back of console are they up under the cupholders or what?

theres some inside the console. flip it open and pull the bottom rubber piece out. i cant remember if there are any in the cup holder or not

well just keep looking for bolts...when you see one, take it out...simple as that

Glad ppl are having these questions now. Thins winter my interior is gettin stripped. Boy I love Sound Deadening! had over 225 sq ft. in my last car. Thankfully I dont plan on racing haha.
Back on subject. Just thought this thread is goin to come in handy

I didn't take the seats out and I got mine out no problem.
The back 2 bolts are inside the armrest all the way down

Just put the seat ahead all the way, get a ratchet with the proper socket, reach in between the console and seat, push the seat back like an inch. with your fingers giving you extra space between console and seat, slip the ratchet and socket in and take out the bolts.

I think its gonna be easier to take seats out, cause i cant get to it with the seat moved all the way forward, thanks for the info though its much appreciated

i finally got my console out (without taking out the seats)  and put on my new ebrake boot which fits over the entire ebrake handle. i can pull it down just havent done it yet. anyways thanks to everyone for the help I would post pics but my dig camera is on the blink.lol
