Traction problems

Ok, I already know where I wanna go with the suspension, and I already know that some of the measures I want to take will get rid of that problem (or at least reduce it).

So far, I have the ass-end raised up and stiffened which reduces weight transfer. Coming soon is front-end tie down.

I have put wider tires on the front (not drag radials though).

Here's the issue. I can hook-up and move out off the line just fine, because the turbo doesn't start spooling until 500 RPM's off launch, but on the 1-2 shift when it's hammered and winding out will just break loose and cook the rubber off the tires and never get traction again unless I let off the gas pedal. This kinda sucks, especially since my tranny doesn't exactly have what I'd call a high torque gear ratio. I'd expect this behavior from a 3.26 or 3.29 gear, but with a 3.05, it should allow the tires to hook up when shifting. Maybe I should back the high RPM's down from 7k?

If anyone out there knows of any N-body products that will assist with traction, I'd appreciate it. I'm not a suspension guru, and to tell the truth, I honestly thought the transmission would give before just cooking the meats off it in second.

hahaha, good try, but my car isn't equipped with the factory traction control system. Right now, the only traction control I have is my foot.

yeah, I figured at least 255/45 Z-rated should help me grab the asphault a little better...and as I was saying, tying the front end down (suspension limiters, as you said).

Summit has aircraft cable with weld-on tabs and quick release pins. I can drive normal around town and put the pins in at the track.

actually, a higher gear ratio creates less wheel spin. and are you in full boost when you shift?

put longer bump stops in the rear suspension to keep the rearend from dropping down. you might even go as far as setting up a wheely style bar to keep the weight from transferring backwards.

yeah, I know the thing about gear ratios, and with 3.05 I shouldn't have near that much spin...I guess it just has that much power. Never thought there was such a thing as too much.

Currently, I dont have any problem with the rear squatting down, I have problems with the front end raising up, which is where the wheel hop is coming from. A/C cables will take care of that, but I need more detailed info on things like bushings, stabilizer bars, etc that will help put some resistance on the front end raising up.

It's possible the aluminum control arms may help. Other than that I would think to change all the bushings to urethane. Do you have a limited slip yet? If not, that should help.
