Radiator Hose

Not the one from the water pump to the radiator. The one from the radiator into the engine. Monday night, I was sitting in the car when the car running with the temp needle jumped up and steam poured from under the hood. Hose burst open. Replaced hose this morning and added coolant/water mixture. When I pulled into my parking space after a ten minute trip, the red light popped on, coolant holder was empty, and the hose was actually making a knocking noise along with a movement as though something was hitting on it. I'm going to Wal-Mart tonight to pick up some flush and by some more coolant. Can anybody else think up something else I may need to pick up?

sounds like your thermostat is sticking...make sure you let out all the air out of the system..

there is a bleader screw on the thermostat housing and another beside the water pump

Little brass bleeded screw.

Most likely the thermostat is junk.

At any rate replace it, its not expensive. Its good to replace, as if it does really go bad, then ya gotta fix it and other possible damage.

I will replace mine every other year with a coolant change.

Bleeding the system didn't help, so this weekend, me and my friend Haynes are gonna put in the PowerTech thermostat I ordered, flush the coolant system, change the spark plugs and put in my Taylor plugs, change the oil, and pour in some fuel injector cleaner. And depending on how bold Haynes and me are feeling at the end at the day, I may try my hand at the tranny fluid
