LMAO its suppose to do that, some cars are built to have that feature, while others are not...part of how you can explain why the radio stays on after you turn the car off...which is explained in the owners manual
READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS!! OR USE THE SEARCH BUTTON

then simply UNPLUG IT WHEN U GET OUTTA THE CAR! if you dont want it to run the battery down (although it never would cause it draws such little power) ive run a battery down from leaving a carputer wired directly to the battery and that drew 12volts, and it took nearly 2 days to kill the battery

im being a rooster cause this is one of those things thats probably mentioned a million times in this same forum, and if not in this forum, somewhere on the site....like i said im not being as much of a rooster as some people might, because if u werent lazy and used the search feature, u wouldnt have to waste a thread for the question in the first place, or if you read the owners manual like your SUPPOSE to

You could add a relay inline with the power outlet / lighter so that the power will cut with the key off.

Yea I have the Ipod charger/fm transmitter and i doubt that it will draw that much power out of the car to kill the batter just from the little led light on the ipod thing.

#1) Not everyone knows how to navigate a forum or use the "search" feature. Some people are not so computer literate.
#2) Even if one would use the search feature, that doesn't mean they always understand one person's way of explaining things. Maybe someone elses imput would be better. The forum is made for questions, and anyone can post any alero specific question.
Don't bash someone for posting a simple question. It is bad enough u had to bitch for about 4 replies... when you could have said "no the cigarette lighter cuts off power after the car is turned off". LOL, shows u have a life

^obviously they are computer literate if they know how to search and find a website like aleromod...not like its advertised on TV or anything to where they didnt have to do a little searching to find it...so that shoots your first point to shreds
second of all...if the owner reads the OWNERS MANUAL like their suppose to when they buy a different car, this type of question wouldnt be asked, as its mentioned in the owners manual, so dont post skim when thats obviously stated in the first and fourth post
i guess my point came across wrong though...and that is, before asking a question, be sure u do some research on it first, cause more than likely the answer isnt too hard to find....

What's the difference between trying to find it in the manual and asking it on here. Either way, you get the answer. So you can't call him lazy for going right to a forum. Because a forum is a research resource.

i would rather get the answer like that *snap* rather than having to search around for 10-15 minutes. Ask the question and come back and have the answer.. much more convenient.. not lazy because u took the time to ask... I guess more or less it comes down to how urgent the issue is. Does the user need this fixed RIGHT AWAY! or is it not a high priority thing on the list

because in searching the site, u will find other things that may not be useful now, but in the future u might remember that u saw the thread and will help finding answers a lot quicker, and it saves on redundant questions that are asked a million times over

Yeah, but if this the grade of questions we're being reduced to, we might as well start a "Common Sense" forum as well.

Now, white, don't get all uptight about this shit. And if you haven't posted anything utterly idiotic before, then congratulations, welcome to the site. 90% of us (including me) have asked stupid questions from time to time. Just suck it up and move on. You'll get your turn, bet on it

no no.. ive asked stupid questions before.. q's that were right in front of my eyes.. and i got flamed.. i thought it was like.. how do i clear corners some dumb shit like that.. but this.. ive never seen it on the forum so i asked.. and i figured that i might have screwed up when i installed my aftermarket stereo.. so i came to a forum called "aleromod" indicating that here, people mod aleros (aftermarket stereos) and they might have some kind of answer for me. so i came, asked an honest question, and got my ass ripped because im so damn stupid. well fu.ck. what the hell can a guy do? i thought i came to the right place.
and what ever happened to the phrase "the only stupid question is the question not asked" ?

That's what parents say to their kids so they'll go ask other people their stupid questions and leave them alone.
