what are you going for, function or looks? i have 18's and they're a little heavier than i'd like. regardless, lowering isn't a problem. bad driving in lowered cars is a problem. lol

I put 17's on my car, because you get a little more sidewall with 17's than 18's
I bent a 16" stocker and 2 17's on potholes. But the 2 17's where at the same time

Redog do you realize that you spelled secretary wrong in the line under your name? But for this dude, if you want speed do 17's if not do 18's they do look better but will slow you down.

If you go with 18's on stock suspension it will look like a monster truck/car, maybe you don't mind but mine looked stupid the month mine was like that.

I'm lowered with Eibach, only a 1.25 inch drop, and I'm sitting on Michellen Pilot Exalto Sports A/S 225/45/17's
Lightweight 18's are out there, it's just the 17's are lighter, and the smaller tire gives less rolling resistance. The effects are very little, so if your going for looks, a nice set of 18's will work fine. Try to stay away from chrome. Polished shines just as much at more than 1/2 the weight. Weight will kill MPG, and overall performance

With 18's your looking at 225/40/18 tires. Personally the "40" is why I didn't go with the 18's. Like I said earlier, I bent a few rims already.
Try places like www.tirerack.com they give a lot of info on the rims they sell and www.1010tires.com has a very handy tire size calulator to make sure the speedo stays right on the money.
Also "Kwhauck" posted this the other day http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16193

Im gettin 17's basically because of the roads around here. And i dont go to alot of shows. Plus tires for 17's are way cheaper and last longer. And i dont plan on owning the alero for more than a couple more years.

alright, find another light weight rim thats strong aswell and looks halfway decent and can take corners....
i dont care about the name, only the performance... thats the reason i recomend MP racing and the 60degreev6 store, the parts work, thats all i care about
