Engine Revs
So, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my car. For the last 2 or 3 weeks it idles really rough and when you put the pedal to the floor around 4000-5000 RPM you can feel the engine hesitating.
So, I started from the basics and worked my way up, I tried some fuel injector cleaner, tried some condensation remover (that made the rough idle go away), but now if it's driving and I put it in neutral it idles at 400RPM. I don't think that's right considering it's always been around 800.
I'm worried it's going to stall out.
Any ideas?

How do I check the fuel pressure? (I'm honestly not that good at cars)
I replaced the fuel filter about 6 months ago when I had issues with it sputtering.
Is there anything to look for with the TPS?

there is a schrader valve between the power steering pump and alternator, autozone has fairly inexpensive fuel pressure guages.

Okay, so I have no idea what's going on. Today it was running just fine and all I did is give it condensation remover. I'm just glad these quirks aren't costing me money.

greenbastard, were you serious bout eather? I've never heard of it...
Hopefully it is just bad gas. I'm really starting to think it has to do with the fact the gas cap wasn't on properly a while ago when the gas gauge was acting up... Stupid gas jockey... Maybe with the climate change it got moisture in it. I dunno, I'm probably just talking out of my ass.
I don't do the discount gas, I always fill up at Shell.

no just kidding, that will eff shit up. i fill my car up at shell and have no problems, that's because they have air miles and it's half a block away and is full serve. a little off topic: i saw that accident in the paper today, what the hell happened? the top of the car was gone!

yeah i go to shell for the airmiles, and golfs car wash here gives you all this free stuff... they used to give you a $10 coupon for pizza hut if you bought 30L of fuel.... all i have to say is free p'zones.
i have no idea about that accident.... i looked it up a bit after i saw your post... i can't believe it... your guess is as good as mine

Think simple! When you push your excelerator to the floor you are getting more fuel which means you need more spark if you arent getting it your car will miss out, it is probably spark plugs or wires. when was your last tune up and I sure hope it doesnt have bosch plugs in it.
