Three different problems with the alero

Problem 1: The e-brake light turns on and off randomly (mostly just stays on) when the e-brake is not engaged. I did a search and found nothing on this, so I was wondering if you guys had this problem and know the solution for fixing it.

Problem 2: The fuel guage needle does not work properly. The tank will be full or have plenty of fuel in it and the needle moves up and down at random. I did a search on this and found that its a common problem, but everyone says they have this problem. Although, there is no clear solution posted on how to fix this problem. I was wondering if someone can clearify this for me.

Problem 3: Water leaks into the car on the front passenger side and in the back on both sides. This has been going on for a long time and I researched this and found this as a common problem. I was told that leaves clog up the drains under the cowl and water fills into the HVAC unit. Well I took the cowl off and I could not visually see anything clogging the drains. I also filled up the cowl area with water and the water flows just fine out the drains and it does not overflow into the HVAC opening. I dont understand how water can be getting inside the HVAC opening and into the car. Could there be another way the water gets in?

Thanks in advance for the help! ~ Chris

As for problem 2 you just have to replace the fuel sensor level in the fuel tank. I think you can buy it separetly at NAPA but i suggested changing the fuel pump, and fuel filter so you have some good maintence work done. But you can just change the fuel level sensor to save money. I think its with the pump not sure.

1. Might be that the e-brake cable needs tightening.

3. Do you have a sunroof?

Problem 1.

Either you need brake fluid in the master cyl, or the sensor is broken. I unpluged mine

Problem 2.

Sender unit in fuel tank is shot, gotta be replaced

Problem 3.

On the floor, body seal under the floor in the back seat, had mine replaced, as for the front, IDK I have the same problem and can't find the source
