i got inpatient on having someone do my tails for me so i bought some 3M vinyl from a friend of mine that has a sign shop and i did it myself. let me know what you think. there's a few wrinkles in this pic but i used a hair dryer and got those out but haven't taken a new pic yet.

Thanks, it's Ruby Red. I'm kinda proud that I did the tails and they look half way decent (keep in mind I'm very mechanically inclined) but still not sure if I like the design though. I may redo it this weekend if I can come up with a different design that I like.

Too many holes for the upper half, nice shapes for the reverse and signals. I think a vinyl color that matches your paint would be better if you can find it. Better than stock tho, you're on your way

unfortunately I feel that this is one of those mods that only looks good on a black car...reason being is that the dark colored paint and vinyl helps hide the contours of the original tail light a little bit better. On a light colored car those contours tend to be VERY noticeable and kind of makes the all the vinyl look overwhelming IMO. However the night pic you took looks pretty good, perhaps because it hides the defect I previously mentioned...

I think they look like absolute crap.
Vinyl tails are like stick on hood scoops, it looks like you didn't have enough money to do it right, so you tried to stick some poop on it to make your car look cool.
You asked.

Like most people, I don't like vinyl tails. Props for taking the initiative and doing it yourself though.

Opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one and sometimes they stink.
To the ones that gave me props for at least tryin myself, thank you. Nah, it might not look all that good but it beats the heck out of paying someone to do it and then I don't like it. At least now I know that I would like the outcome if I did decide to have a professional do them for me. I'll get day time pics and night time pics with the lights turned on probably tomorrow.
