blower fan??

i think the blower fan died on the way to homecoming yesterday. it was 90 degrees and i had the a/c on and the fan on the highest setting with 4 other ppl in the car trying to stay cool. then, the air just slowly died away and nothing at all was coming out of the vents. turned radio off to listen for noises and heard clicking. turned fan off and noise stopped. compressor isn't locked up. tried about 10 minutes later and it worked again then once again slowly died. any ideas on what i need to do to get my heat/air to work again? how do i get to the fan? my car's getting revenge on me

it quits on all speed settings? you most likely need a new blower motor. around 40 bux iirc. you have to lay on your back on the passenger side floor to get to it...take off the cover pieces under the dash and you'll see it up by the firewall, big round thing with a 2 wire connector and 3 bolts holding it in...you'll probably want a swivel socket adapter to get to one of them...it's not too hard of a job, just the angle's a bit difficult to work at.

ok, well I finally got around to checking the blower out this afternoon. It works for about 15 minutes and then dies and will work again if i let it sit for 5 minutes and try again. with winter coming, i want it to be good to go. anyway, i got the plastic cover peices under the dash off and there's some square electrical box in my way of seeing the 3rd bolt holding the fan in. how do I get this electrical box off without breaking it?
