huh? why in the hell would you want a timing belt? im not rolling in a jap car, here. timing belts driven by water pumps are REAL costly maintenance as well! 300-400 bucks repair.

lol you dumbass, you don't get it they show up as a RED X since we are not on quad4forums. the link the image references is from an attachment off quad4forums, so they DON'T SHOW UP, so NONE OF US CAN SEE THEM!
(Unless of course we get a Quad4Forums.com account, which I just did, so now I can see quad4forums attachments)
That's all I'm saying.. I don't give a shit who owns them.

Plenty of non-japanese cars have their share of timing belts too... Timing belts don't transmit vibration as much and free up some HP which is their advantages. However I did have my old Volvo toss the belt and it cost like $700 to repair the damage (in parts!). It had essentially their version of the Quad.

The reason for a modification such as this would be to lose the weight of the timing chain housing, reducing the mass of the engine assembly. The downside to this modification, snapped belts no bueno... of course that's why you spend out for a high quality belt. Also there's no cover or housing for this particular conversion which means, you have to keep an eye on it to make sure it's clean.
However, if you're going all out, need every last ounce of weight savings this is it, as well as losing some weighted mass being exerted on the crankshaft.
