ok so i checked the power wire and every thing was good. i redid the ground wire and made sure that the paint was sanded off. the ground wire is about 1 to 1.5 feet long. All wiring is 4 gauge. All the fuses are the proper ones. The amp is a sony explode xm 1002hx set to 2-4 ohms and the sub is a clarion SRW1245 wired to 4 ohms. and the amp still gets pretty hot. i dont know what else i can check or do.
