Monsoon Amp
Just found out my 01 has the factory Monsoon amp. Does anyone have any info or know where I can find info on this amp, such as how much power, can subs be added to it, can aftermarket amp be added, or whatever else?

Find them amp, rip that thing out and throw it into the ocean.
That amp can barely power the factory set up let alone after market. Theres no way in hell on the hottest day could it ever power a sub of any sorts.
Truth.

Can it be straight up swapped out with an aftermarket amp, or would a ton of rewiring have to be done?

What do you want to power with an amp?
And no you just dont replace that amp. Just let it alone and put a whole new amp in. The wiring isnt there to support an after market amp.
There is no short cut around it. Theres the right and good way then there is the hacked up garbage way. If you try to do it the later way you will end up doing it the right way anyhow- as it wont work good.
Been doing this for years. Just do it the right way the first time and skip all the problems, drama and cut up factory wiring.

I just want to add a sub in the future. What would be the best way to go about doing that? Thanks!

Your best off to get a new hea dunit, but if you cant get a line out converter here: www.davidnavone.com
THen you need an amp and a wiring kit with cheap RCAs or none... You only need a small run of RCAs not 17' worth.
