Alero 1999-2003 Halo Style Illumiglo Gauges

I saw this product on "Street racer parts" -

http://www.streetracerparts.com/Olds...p/srp-0160.htm

How difficult would it be to install these? And if I'm reading correctly, they're self illuminating, so no switches required, right? Or am I wrong?

And what's the "Inverter upgrade" purchase option

Sorry, newb to this stuff.

tnalero99 is an unknown quantity at this point
A lot cheaper to just buy them from ebay. Easy to install, I just used 2 sided tape and tapped power wire into the light on the cubby hole under the radio.

Does 'tapping into' that light remove the power to the cubby light?

nope. what you would do is strip the gray wire going into the gauges and attach the power wire from your new overlays into that. There's a whole how-to somewhere.

for a n00b, it would take about an hour to do this. for me (and anybody else that has been in the gauge cluster more than once) it would probably take 15 minutes at the most.

ASS is the Aleromod portion of the Olds Homecoming weekend, which takes place at the Holiday Inn in Lansing, right off of Rt 96. ASS stands for Alero Show and Stravaganza.

I think that was Scot and Brent's collaboration. Joel, Marc, and some of the other regulars may have had some say in it also.

I don't know what the digital inverter upgrade is about...

and if this is why you woke me up last night *middle finger with no long-lasting hard feelings*

I see you contacted me via AIM....when there is a little cell-phone on there, it means I'm not at the computer...and it went to my phone. married + kids = sleeping at night.
