what's next?

alright, so i'm where i wanted to be with my alero originally (as soon as i get my pcm back). i always told myself i wanted intake, exhaust, pcm, tint. now i have a job and want some input on where to go next. i was thinking of doing an appearance mod since all i have is tint and cleared corners... maybe some wheels or something. but where should i go next performance-wise?

here's what i've thought of, but i don't know if there's a logical order to go in:
-headers
-ported UIM and LIM along with the bigger TB (probably the competition set from wot-tech, planning on making my first trip to the track this year)
-OR the 3500 top swap, but i understand that this is probably a bit more expensive, and i don't exactly know what it requires.
-upgrade my exhaust to 2.5" mandrel bent pipe, possibly different muffler, mine's kinda raspy.. but that's a low priority

that's it, i don't know what else there is to do... obviously ported heads i guess? don't really know... let me know if i'm missing something easy. i do plan to turbo at SOME POINT in the future, but i figured building the engine up first is a good idea? and possibly investing in a new tranny before the turbo haha. any more suggestions? or which of these i should do first? keep in mind i have an extra 3400, so i've got some extra parts woohoo!

as far as appearance goes, i want to do wheels and a kit... probably the AAS kit. also eventually i wanna do something with paint, but that's also not a priority. OH and the razzi spoiler... sex. maybe the razzi kit rather than AAS if i go that route, don't know that the spoiler would look good with the AAS kit. not looking for anything too extravagant appearance-wise, more interested in the motor. thanks!

If you are seriously planning to turbo it (not casually thinking, but really planning on it), don't waste your money on headers.
In fact, you really should decide now if you are going the forced induction route, or if you are staying NA - that will dictate a lot of your upgrade path.

Edit: Seeing as how the stock brakes are so woefully inadequate, I'd suggest upgrading them first...and it isn't too terribly expensive.

ok so no headers for a turbo? ha, i don't know much about it yet. i am planning on the turbo... just don't know what's needed. i know i'll have to have it custom fabbed, but what should i build up in the engine for more power before the turbo?

You may want to do a bit of reading on how some of this stuff works before you get hip-deep in a project that ends up costing triple what you had budgeted.....
But without getting to deep into it, turbo manifolds (or headers) are quite a bit different than other headers. This is because the turbo is driven off the exhaust gasses, so the turbo needs to bolt directly to the manifold.
There are other supporting mods you can do for a turbo......better flowing heads and intake manifolds, etc. But what's good for a turbocharged engine is not necessarily optimal for an engine without a turbo, so you may want to wait until you have some idea of what exactly you want before you start buying parts.

so your building the engine up thats in the car ? and using the spare engine for replacement parts ? I want to get an extra engine and build that up then drop it in the ho, would that not be a better way of doing things if you were open to be patient ?

Ya you should build up the spare engine and just take your time and plan everything out and definitely decide whether you want to go N/A or boost cause that makes a big difference in the direction of your build and the parts you have to buy.
